Potassium sulphate
Potassium sulfate, with the chemical formula K₂SO₄, is a white, water-soluble salt that contains potassium and sulfate ions. It is commonly used as a fertilizer, providing essential nutrients for plants, particularly potassium and sulfur, which are important for plant growth and development. In addition to its agricultural uses, potassium sulfate is also utilized in various industrial applications, including the production of glass, and in some cases, as a food additive. Its properties make it suitable for use in situations where chlorine is undesirable, as it does not contain chloride.
